Stay Afloat

See your next wave with us

By Sophie Allis-Burton

Stay Afloat is a brand about making sure travellers who come and visit Omaha Beach are safe. We advocate for safety amoungest everyone who visits our gorgeous beach but are putting our focus on people who don't know it well. We have put together a website in hopes you can find helpful safety tips to keep in mind whilst your at the beach. We also have an in person set up, with people teaching you on all things surf safety, we hope to see you there.

Background

We are preventing travellers from raising their hands in the ocean this summer. Through our website and our pop up in William Fraser park we are offering to provide foreigners on the dangers of our local beach and how they can prevent getting into a sticky situation. We all know New Zealand beaches are quite dangerous so letting the people who don’t know our country well be aware of the dangers is super important to us and our community. We hope to lower numbers across the beach incidents and keep the people we love safe.

Promotional Video

With this explainer video we hope to achieve that it grabs attention from all ages, young and old to come check us out. This will then hopefully bring them to learn about the surf safety we provide.

How it works!

The app is very simple and easy to navigate so that if you don't have the best english it's pretty navigatable. We provide videos, sources, where to find us and how to keep safe all in one place. The website is designed for everyone in mind so that everyone can learn to be safe at our beach.

The Campaign

We can reach the target audience by putting ourselves out there. We can use lots of posters and even create social media accounts targeted towards travel so that we can hook travellers into our brand. We can use our bright and bold colours to create an identity for ourselves so that people can recognise us from afar. Also using videos for people who may not speak english is important to fully attract our target audience.

Why support us

We want the people that visit our beloved home to be able to have the knowledge and keep themselves and others safe while visiting Omaha Beach. We hope to provide travellers with the knowledge so that they can not only be used in our local area but at every beach they visit, help us spread the word and keep everyone safe this summer.
