Every Mum Deserves a Helping Paw

At Mamma Bear, we value family, connection, community, inclusivity, and respect above all else. It is vital that mothers all have help, guidance, and connection available to them, no matter the time, place, or situation. It's our job here at Mamma Bear to provide all mothers with a platform to express themselves and reach out for help if needed. We’ve created a space where you can feel safe discussing your problems, and offer utilities for you to be able to form your own friendly communities and even chat with and meet up in person with other mothers that may be in a similar boat to you.
Background
The suburb of Hillsborough is known for its beautiful views of Hillsborough Bay and Maungakiekie. However the issue that was observed in Hillsborough was the lack of community feel and connection among the residents as there aren't really any places for recreation or gathering. It was also observed that due to there being many schools around in the area, a large majority of the Hillsborough community consists of mothers. Putting two and two together, I came up with the solution of an app called "Mamma bear" which provides a safe space for mothers to connect with one another, give and receive help, and even meet up in person by joining any groups they desire. It's important that mothers have a safe space and opportunities to reach out to others as it can be common for mothers to lose contact and connection with friends over time. Mamma Bear ensures that mothers everywhere are given the help, love, and support they deserve.
Promotional Video
The Mamma Bear promotional video was made in order to create awareness for the app and inspire mothers to download the app and sign up. The main ideas that I wanted to convey with the video was a sense of relatability, comfort, and even some humour. I want mothers around New Zealand to see the promotional video and be able to relate to some of the situations included in the video, and feel inspired to get the app. I also included some examples of features that come with the app to help clearly show what the app is and what they would be signing up for.
How it works!
Mamma Bear is a social media app designed for easy use and navigation, connection with others, and finding the help you're looking for. The main features of the app consist of a home page with a feed of posts from friends and groups you're in, along with any other recommended posts. You also have the ability to add your own posts - such as questions, tips, polls, blog-like life updates, etc. When posting, you can also choose your audience and even remain anonymous if you don't feel comfortable sharing on the app. Some other features include messaging others, joining groups, favoriting topics, and viewing profiles of others.
The Campaign
Mamma Bear's goal is to reach out to mothers who are feeling lonely, lost, or need any kind of help or connection in their lives. We aim to use promotional material that allows mothers to either relate or feel a sense of security and safety within the Mamma Bear brand. Through our campaign we strive to give mothers a greater sense of hope and a community feeling as Mamma Bear is all about being a safe space and community specially for mothers.
